Orion Group wins multi-million pound contract from Italy’s EniWritten by admin , July 12th, 2017 // Oil & Gas
Orion Group of Inverness, which supplies agency staff for offshore and other engineering work, has secured a new multi-million pound contract with Italian energy giant Eni.
The family-owned company, which employs more than 300 people across 57 locations around the world, is one of three appointed to deliver Eni ‘s manpower services across key locations including Houston, Oslo, Paris, Singapore, Geoje and Yokohama. Orion will provide staff in disciplines such as engineering, construction and commissioning.
The deal will be a boon to Orion, which in its last set of results posted a fall in revenues and profits as the downturn in the oil and gas sector took hold. Group sales director Mike Wallace said the company was “delighted” to receive the award.
“Being appointed to work with Eni in supplying people internationally underlines Orion’s strength and ability to attract some of the world’s finest energy specialists,” Wallace added. “In an uncertain jobs market it’s encouraging to see one of the world’s leading energy companies looking to recruit a significant number of new staff.
“As a business, Orion are well-placed to service this contract given our own geographical footprint and expertise of managing and mobilising large-scale multi-national workforces.”
The project team at Orion will work with Eni in the coming weeks to find candidates with the expertise required, particularly in the field of floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG).
