Jack Pelton to be inducted into Kansas Aviation Hall of Fame

Jack Pelton, former Cessna Aircraft Co. chairman and CEO, will be formally inducted into the Kansas Aviation Hall of Fame at the Kansas Aviation Museum’s Annual Gala on Nov. 11.

He is currently chairman and CEO of the Experimental Aircraft Association

Pelton was Cessna’s top executive from 2003 to 2011, and before that served as its senior vice president of product engineering. He came to Cessna from Dornier Aircraft in Germany, where he was senior vice president of engineering. He started his career at Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, Calif.

A pilot, Pelton has held multiple ratings including airline transport and commercial pilot certificates.

Also at the museum’s gala, Walter House will be posthumously awarded the Kansas Aviation Honor Award. House, who died in July, was an Air Force veteran, aviation historian and a long-time volunteer at the museum.
